Job Overview

The primary responsibilities of the Project Director include management of multiple, short and long duration projects from engineering including creation of project plans, risk mitigation, cost review, reporting and analysis, project forecasting, project accruals, change control management, status reporting , escalation and problem solving, present regular reports to end customers & Executive Management. Effective communication with the team members and other stakeholders is critical.

Responsible for delivering projects against agreed scope, budget, schedule & customer expectations. Doing this whilst supervising, directing & motivating teams of multi-discipline contractors & employees.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:

(1) The position will be based in Bhubaneshwar.

(2) Should have good experience in Fibre Passive Deployments, Fibre OSP Construction and Maintenance or relevant Telecom Experience.

(3) Should have in-depth knowledge of WiFi projects or relevant Telecom experience, AT for Fibre Passive Networks, Hand Over documentation etc.

(4) Data-centre management & deployment experience is required

(5) Should able coordinate well with contractors and able to refer any contractors for the Fibre work.

(6) Should be active, energetic, flexible and committed towards the project.

(7) Should have fluency in English, Hindi & Odiya (Odiya- Optional) and expertise in excel.

(8) Should work independently with no or little intervention.

COMMERCIAL AWARENESS & BUSINESS ACUMEN:

• Experience of working in a multivendor environment. • Good conflict management and prioritisation skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under pressure. • Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion. • Internal and External Stakeholder Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and coordinate a team that includes Design Engineers, Field Engineers, Installation teams,

Other Project Managers and Management Officials.

• Develop project timelines and associated schedules to support the overall program level goals.

• Manage and progress track against those schedules

• Develop and manage project budgets that meet program guidelines.

• Coordinate with the field and network teams for timing, execution and closeout of individual

projects

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in various stages of completion, lead weekly

meetings with the client and project team.

• Monitoring project risks and scope creep to identify potential problems and proactively identifying

solutions to address them in advance.

• Escalating promptly any issues that may impact operations.

• Producing stage plans, highlight reports, risk logs, requests for change etc

• Providing strategic direction during the implementation stages.

• Managing customer expectations by ensuring the delivery of the highest quality service Acting on

client feedback Monitoring staff & team performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training

and experience.

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in project leadership roles in Telcos.

• PMP certification is desired.

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience managing multiple projects and leading cross-functional teams. Experience working in

the field of Telecom / WiFi

• Project management experience with budgeting, project cost estimating, scheduling and planning

• Ability to co-ordinate and integrate work across multiple disciplines, complete scheduling and

resource planning activities to drive efficient work processes, identify and manage all project risks

and enhance customer communication and satisfaction.

• Demonstrated experience with strong communications with internal and external stakeholders,

specifically consulting with clients, identifying client needs, developing action plans, providing

deliverables, and presenting results.

• Ability to communicate progress, highlight issues and provide recommendations to senior leadership

• Experience using Microsoft word, excel and power point

• Co-ordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

• Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget

• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and

ensuring technical feasibility

• Ensure resource availability and allocation

• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress

• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate

verification techniques

• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques

• Report and escalate to management as needed

• Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders

• Perform risk management to minimize project risks

• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties / vendors

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
